JENNIFER FUKUSHIMA
FASHION DESIGNER
Biography
My fashion career began at age 17, creating designs from thrifted 70s upholstery and whatever unusual bits and pieces I could find at the local second hand shop. I left Thunder Bay to study fashion design at Ryerson University and grew my business here and in boutiques across the country. During these years, my practice was largely informed by ecological design and ethical manufacturing processes.
In 2018, I decided to take a break to pursue a career change, delving into astrological work and returning to school to psychotherapy.
But old passions never die. In the fall of 2020, I fell back in love with fashion and have begun to curate an eclectic selection of bohemian lifestyle offerings: vintage dresses, handcrafted masks and jewelry and a line of re-imagined jean jackets.
